Party on!

There was lots of preparation for the big party, inside and out of Arcadia Hill House.  The old drab colors gave way to bright, calm blues that make the house much more welcoming and light.
First to go was the burnt orange of the laundry room.

SO much brighter, and it looks bigger too!  My sister Patti painted it while I was in England.

I followed up by painting the hallway between the kitchen and the "blue room" a nice cream color.

The two of us worked together to paint the foyer and dining room.  Gone was that awful circus peanut orange foyer and the drab tan dining room!

 Next to go was the sick green kitchen

The living room, office, master bedroom, and upstairs hall still need painting, but these rooms needed it most.   We also painted the deck, and that was the last big project for now.  Patti and I work well together--we should go into business!

Family and friends came on a perfect, sunny day to celebrate Arjay and Tracy's engagement and sing happy birthday a few days early to Margaret.

The new concrete floor in the greenhouse made a great fire pit.  S'mores all around!
